Techniques Covered in Silversmithing 1: Cleaning metal, annealing with torch, rolling mill textures, hammered textures, cutting with shears, punching out disks, doming with dapping set, punching holes, drilling holes with flex shaft, filing, sanding, handmade sterling earring hooks, balling up sterling wire, simple bale making, patinas and surface finishes.
The $100.00 class fee does not include any of the tools or materials.
- Three options available for class #1
- Option 1: $100 Class Fee plus $71 TOOL RENTAL Fee (TOTAL $171), includes limited use of store tools, very basic materials, class work time, no store discount If the tool rental option is for you, you may choose to apply the tool rental fee towards a kit by the end of the day
- Option 2: $100 Class Fee plus Ala Carte Tools at 15% off and the Standard materials kit. ($170 plus tools) You pick the tools you need. This option must be arranged 3-6 weeks in advance in order for us to have the tools you request. This option DOES NOT include use of any of Bella Beads tools or supplies. It does include class work time and 15% store discount card.
- Option 3: $100 Class Fee plus $398 Premium Kit Fee (Total $498) includes premium kit at a 25% discount, no changes can be made to this kit, or it is considered ala carte. All the bells and whistles to make your hobby a business. Premium material kit includes bonus copper, bronze and silver. Also includes 15% store discount card.

Signing Up
*Students must be signed up for a class 2 weeks in advance.
*Students must pay for their tool kit and a minimum deposit of $100 when they sign up for a class.
*A tool kit must be chosen when signing up for a class.
*Classes must be taken in order. Each class is a pre-requisite for the following class in the series. (Ex. Class 1 is required to take class 2)
*Classes will be cancelled 10 days in advance if there are not 3 or more people signed up. *Class is limited to 6 people.

Can I skip a class? *A student may skip a class only if they can submit 5 detailed photos of pieces they have made using all of the techniques described in the classes) they are trying to bypass. *Also, a detailed description of how the techniques were used to make the work. It will be left up to the discretion of Beth Millner if the person may skip a class. Photos and descriptions must be submitted 3 weeks prior to date of class. Please submit digital images only. They must be emailed directly to bethmillner@gmail.com. Make sure to include your phone number and contact information.
I have taken classes prior to 2012? If you have taken classes prior to 2012, please keep in mind that there has been some re-configuring. Parts of my previous class Twisting, Rolling & Forming have been incorporated into my Current Classes. You can still hop back into the series where you left off, but please keep in mind that the tools kits have changed. If there are any gaps in your understanding of techniques please ask questions during class. If you have not taken a class recently, practicing your skills before taking another class is highly recommended.
